The idea of using autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) to treat multiple sclerosis (MS) has been around for decades, but it’s garnered increased attention in recent weeks, thanks to a BBC feature program about research ongoing at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals in the United Kingdom, which aired Jan. 18.
