The vast majority (about 80%) of new HIV infections in the United States in 2016 were transmitted from the nearly 40% of people with HIV who either did not know they had HIV, or who received a diagnosis but were not receiving HIV care, according to data from a new Vital Signs report released Monday, March 18 by the CDC.
