Pharmacists at Vanderbilt Specialty Pharmacy (VSP), in Nashville, Tenn., have demonstrated that monthly patient outreach, electronic health record (EHR) data-mining plus close collaboration with oncologists are effective tools for identifying adverse events (AEs) and then suggesting alternative treatments to prevent any significant delays in patient care.
