New patients enrolled in the pilot of Specialty Connect, CVS Health’s new high-touch specialty-at-retail program, were 17.5% more likely to pick up their first refill than a control group, while existing specialty patients had an 11.4 percentage point improvement in adherence, according to research published in the January-February edition of the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association (2016;56:47-53).
