Viagra: Potent Remedy for Memory Loss?

Erectile dysfunction (ED) medications may really be a fountain of youth. Outside of their prescribed use, a recent study found an association with a reduced risk for Alzheimer’s disease (Neurology 2024;102[4]:e209131). 

Erectile dysfunction drugs, which work by dilating blood vessels to allow more blood to flow through, were first developed to treat high blood pressure. A new study suggests that the drugs may be tied to a reduced risk for Alzheimer’s disease.
