Patient Assistance Programs Flexed Their Muscles in Response to COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic had a huge impact on patient access to needed therapies and shed light on unmet needs, speakers said during opening day of Informa’s PAP Critical Update 2021 virtual event. As a result, many patient assistance programs (PAPs), drug manufacturers and some payors quickly adapted to a virtual environment, expanded programs and relaxed some requirements to ensure medications remained accessible.
