The FDA is seeking public comment on potential changes to the existing Opioid Analgesic Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS). Specifically, the updated REMS would require opioid analgesics used in outpatient settings to be dispensed with postage–paid, mail-back envelopes and pharmacists to provide patient education on safe disposal of opioids.
