USP (Finally) Releases New Proposed Chapter <797>: Here's How It Will Affect Practice

Following almost two years of anticipation, the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP), on Sept. 1, finally issued its new proposed revised Chapter <797> on Pharmaceutical Compounding—Sterile Preparations. What does this mean for sterile compounding in your pharmacy? For most hospitals and health systems, which already had prepared to comply with the original <797> revisions, the answer is probably “not much.”
