Epic and Microsoft announced a partnership to deploy generative artificial intelligence to improve the accuracy and efficiency of electronic health records (EHRs). The companies plan to integrate the Epic EHR platform with Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service, allowing generative AI to help fill in missing information, suggest diagnoses and even use historical data to predict outcomes. The initiative was announced at the 2023 HIMSS Global Health Conference in Chicago on April 17.
