Cancer Deaths Higher in Rural America

Although cancer deaths are decreasing nationwide, the CDC said they are declining at a slower rate in rural counties than in urban areas in the United States.
Cancer deaths have decreased 1.6% per year in cities, but only decreased 1% in the rural communities (MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep 2017 Jul 8. [Epub ahead of print]).

“While geography alone can’t predict your risk of cancer, it can impact prevention, diagnosis and treatment opportunities–and that’s a
