Hospital Care for NAFLD Topped $9 Billion in 2014

Hospital charges linked to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease exceeded $9 billion in 2014, a new study has found.

Total inpatient costs for NAFLD have been rising rapidly as the incidence of the illness increases, according to the researchers, who presented their findings at the 2018 Liver Meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (abstract 0975).
